Privacy Policy
What Information We Collect
We collect email addresses, phone numbers, and postal addresses of LRCHS 1973 classmates and friends of the class interested in attending our reunions.
Usage and Analytics Data
Non-personal data is collected for analyzing website usage. This may include the user’s Internet service provider, type of web browser or operating system, IP address, viewed pages, time and duration of site visits, crash logs, and other information relating to site usage.
Cookies
Most web browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Please note, however, that certain features of the site might not function if you delete or disable cookies. Specifically, if you are a Reunion Committee member and have a login account, that login requires the use of cookies.
Messages
If you use this website to send a message, e.g., to provide information about a classmate or contact the reunion committee, that message and all metadata, such as timestamps, IP addresses, etc., may be recorded.
Utilizing User Information
User information about classmates is used to send messages, both email and postal mail, as well as phone calls, to inform classmates about reunions. It may also be used to periodically contact the classmate to verify that the contact information is correct and up-to-date.
Third-Party Providers
User information may be disclosed to third-party providers for routing email and maintenance and hosting of the website. We ensure that these third-party providers employ adequate security measures concerning user data.
Sharing of User Data
As a general policy, we use personal information and message data for internal purposes only. We do not sell or rent information about you. We will not disclose personal information or message data to third parties without your consent, except as explained in this Privacy Policy.
Our Missing Classmates page lists the names of members of the class as they were during school (usually maiden names for women). It also discloses whether we have contact information for that classmate and whether or not that contact information is current. We never disclose the contact information itself. We also indicate whether the classmate is known to be deceased and possibly the URL of an obituary. We do not disclose what type of contact information we have (email address, phone number, postal address).
Only select members of the reunion committee have access to the database of contact information. The committee members have agreed to protect that information as provided in this Privacy Policy.
Compliance With Laws
The Reunion Committee cooperates with government and law enforcement officials to enforce and comply with the law. We may therefore disclose personal information, usage data, message data, and any other information about you, if we deem that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), or enforceable governmental request; (b) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or (c) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the Reunion Committee, its users or the public, as required or permitted by law.
Security
The Reunion Committee uses necessary measures to protect the security of your data. However, it is impossible to completely guarantee that user data will be immune from malicious attack or compromise. Therefore, users should understand that the transmission of personal data is always at their own risk.
Storage of Data in the United States
User data is stored in the United States. User information will be subject to the laws of the United States of America, regardless of the country from which their data originates.
Updating User Information
Users may correct, update, or change their personal information. Classmates may do this through the Missing Classmates page. Others may send a message through the Contact page.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
The Reunion Committee may make changes to its privacy policy from time-to-time. Users should periodically revisit the policy for any updates. Users who continue to interact with the site following a revision of the privacy policy will automatically be subject to the new terms.
Personal Data Safekeeping
Users should carefully protect the personal information that they submit on the site — including their passwords, usernames, location, and contact information — so that third parties cannot manipulate their accounts or assume their identities.
